Where it all began…Brand Videographer & Photographer in Lincoln
Hey, I’m Steph.
Founder of Capture the Curious a brand photography and videography studio based in Lincoln, UK.
Cinematic film maker. Ex-theatre kid. Professional overthinker turned full-time visual storyteller.
So how did I get here?
Let’s rewind.
Once upon a pre-parenthood time, I was deep in the world of theatre — storytelling was my jam.
Then I had my son, moved from London to Lincoln, and tried a more “sensible” path: teaching English and the arts. To teenagers…
It didn’t scratch the creative itch. So, like any rational person would do, I went back to uni — whilst raising a toddler and still working full-time… because apparently I love a challenge.
That led me to a marketing job on a creative team, which led me to a videography course, which led me to thinking,
“Hmm... maybe I’ll just casually add photography to my skillset too.”
Cue the ultimate skill swap: I designed my photographer friend’s logo, he taught me how to use a camera.
(Was I good at first? Absolutely not. Did I shoot every willing victim — sorry, participant — until I figured it out? You bet.)
Where I’ve landed and who I help:
Now, I help brands look damn good — and sound like real people — through storytelling photography and videography rooted in authenticity, not algorithms.
Whether you’re a creative, a boutique hotel, a wellness brand, or a wild experience looking to capture the magic, I’ll help you translate that into story-rich content that doesn’t feel like an ad. And more importantly, gets people to connect emotionally.
My background in theatre and a degree in creative writing taught me how to craft stories that pull people in — stories with heart, rhythm, and just the right amount of drama.
Now I use those same tools to help you say what matters, in a way that sticks.
But what does that mean
for you?

Don’t just take my word for it…
Big Idea? Small idea? Weird idea? I’m all ears! (and I‘m a little weird myself)
